Half Pounder on the Applegate
Went fishing all day Saturday on the Rogue with not even a bite. Sunday I fished the Applegate for about 7 hours. At hour 6, had my first bite and hook up. I was float and fly fishing. I was fishing with a 10' Pinnacle Vertex rod with 6# mono and 4.5# fluro leader to stonefly, with a dropper of the stonefly to an egg pattern fly. Very pretty fish, 24"-25" and about three to three and a half pounds. Never had another bite after that, but the one fish was well worth two full days of hiking through the mountains fishing.
